English Football, or Soccer, has always suffered from hooliganism since it was invented, however, since the winning of the World Cup in 1966, hooliganism took a sharp upturn and the media descended and the government cracked down hard. However, it's failed to tackle the problem effectively. After England's 2020 European Championship Cup hopes were dashed by Italy on Sunday, more of these non-fans began to hurl abuse at players on the England team. In this episode, we explore the events of Sunday and the effects and causes of hooliganism in the English fans.

Have you ever witnessed hooliganism?

Soccer, it's never been hugely popular in the USA. The rest of the world, definitely much more popular. European Football is currently in the twilight of the UEFA European Championships, or "Euros" as its informally known. Dominic tells us in this episode about the history and Britain's, or more specifically England's, obsession with the sport and the culture that surrounds it.

Who are you rooting for in the Euros?

Living In America: Whose Side Are You On?

Living in a country that you now call home while still having ties to the country of your birth can be confusing. It's a rather unique experience to expats. For instance, the World Cup. England and the USA are playing. Who do you support?? Your new home or your old one? Some might even say whichever one that goes the furthest!

Continuing on the sports theme, does one completely forget about football, or "soccer" as they insist on calling it over here? For anybody wondering, American Football is called just that in Britain. Formally, it's known as 'Gridiron Football'.

I still follow the World Cup when it's on, but not exclusively. If the USA or England (as usually Scotland and Wales never qualify) are doing well in it, then I'll be interested and, it seems as if the sport has gained some popularity in the years I've been here. Due in no small part to my influence of course! *ahem*

What sport would you miss if you moved away?
